DilDil CIC – Donations Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern donations made to DilDil CIC, a Community Interest Company registered in the United Kingdom. By making a donation, you agree to the following terms:

1. Acceptance of Donations

Acceptance of any contribution, gift, or grant is at the sole discretion of DilDil CIC.
DilDil CIC will only accept donations that can be used or expended in a manner consistent with its mission and community purposes.
DilDil CIC reserves the right to refuse any donation if it believes acceptance would be inappropriate, unlawful, or inconsistent with its objectives.

2. Donor Financial Security

DilDil CIC will not accept any irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.
Donors are strongly encouraged to give responsibly and within their means.

3. Independent Advice

DilDil CIC does not provide legal, financial, or tax advice to donors.
Donors are encouraged to seek independent professional advice regarding the tax, legal, and financial implications of their donation.

4. Types of Donations Accepted

DilDil CIC accepts donations in the form of cash, bank transfers, or publicly traded securities.
In-kind donations (goods or services) may be accepted at the discretion of DilDil CIC if they are directly useful to its activities.
Other forms of donations (e.g., real property, personal property, non-liquid securities, or restricted contributions) will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis due to the obligations and risks they may pose.

5. Transparency and Source of Funds

DilDil CIC may refuse donations from sources that are not transparent, inconsistent with its values, or that may pose reputational, ethical, or legal risks.
All donations must comply with UK charity law, anti-money laundering regulations, and CIC governance rules.

6. Acknowledgment of Donations

DilDil CIC will provide written acknowledgment for donations that meet HMRC requirements for Gift Aid or other tax-related purposes.
Except for cash and publicly traded securities, DilDil CIC will not assign a monetary value to in-kind gifts or services in its acknowledgments.

7. Donor Intent and Anonymity

DilDil CIC will respect the express wishes of donors relating to restricted purposes, subject to compatibility with its mission.
Where a donation cannot be applied to the specified purpose, DilDil CIC will seek to agree an alternative use with the donor.
Donors who wish to remain anonymous will have their identity disclosed only to staff or directors with a legitimate operational need to know.

8. No Compensation for Donations

DilDil CIC does not pay commissions, finder’s fees, or other compensation to third parties for directing a donation or donor to the organisation.

9. Use of Donations

All donations are applied to advance the community benefit objectives of DilDil CIC, as defined in its governing documents.
Unrestricted donations will be used where the need is greatest.
